Special events are sponsored by the North Star Quilters guild and occur several times during the year.  These may include in-person trunk shows and workshops or zoom presentations by national teachers on topics that are of special interest to guild members.

Kathleen will show a variety of quilts including scrappy, paper pieced and award-winning quilts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Kathleen has sewn, crocheted, knitted and cross stitched starting at a young age. She took a beginner’s quilting class in 1983 and has been hooked ever since. Kathy began teaching in 1987 and has taught hundreds of students. She has had many quilts published in books and calendars and has won numerous awards for her quilts. Kathy loves teaching all different techniques in her upbeat classes; Especially showing techniques that have positive results for her students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wondering what a Trunk Show<\/em> is?<\/strong> Kathleen will bring a pile of her best quilts to view, sharing the story of each and inviting questions. Relax in your chair while volunteers walk each quilt through the audience, so you can get a close-up view. This is not a slide show of quilts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabric Collage Zipper Pouch and Home Sweet Home Wall Hanging<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After the quilt show, join special guest, Amy Munson, for two classes!  These are perfect classes for those wanting to try fabric collage, but afraid to commit to a quilt. Have fun learning several fabric collage techniques and using up colorful scraps of fabric to create both a zipper pouch and a sweet wall quilt

Morning from 9 am\u201312 pm will be the Fabric Collage Zipper Pouch<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afternoon from 1\u20134 pm will be the Home Sweet Home Fabric Collage<\/strong><\/em>.
Approx finished size is 13\u201d x 15\u201d

Lunch on your own.

Fee for both classes is $60 (online registration includes a $3.50 service charge). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supply list will be available once fee is paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Class to be held at Quilters JEM, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and limited to 20 participants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
