*We are nearing the end of the Mystery Quilt project. If you need a copy of missed patterns contact Courtney, so that she can have enough copies available for you to pick up at the October meeting. Courtney will also bring patterns in January. It is $5 per missed pattern.
The mystery quilt is 60 x76 inches without borders.
Fabric requirements for the mystery quilt include:
You can add any size border or eliminate the borders. Jackie will happily provide fabric requirements for any size border.
- 1-5/8 yd. or 7 fat quarters of dark fabric,
- 3 yds. or 12 fat quarters of medium fabric, and
- 4-1/3 yds. or 18 fat quarters of light fabric (background).
The fabric requirements are generous and should leave room for small errors or substitutions. If you would like it very modern with extra negative space, buy extra background fabric. For a minimalist look, Jackie recommends using only three fabrics. For a scrappier look, use a variety of fat quarters .
The background fabric can certainly be darker than your "dark" fabric, but will be referred to as "light" throughout the pattern.
Construction choices in some months will allow you to make it more traditional or more modern, and the final layout will have these options as well.
